Grand Meadow School Open House Draws Thousands

State Officials Receive an Education about Monolithic Domes

The open house on November 10, 2002 for the Monolithic Dome school in Grand Meadow, Minnesota went beyond the district's expectations. According to Jerry Cleveland, a local dome enthusiast, school officials from around the state, Grand Meadow's Mayor, a State Senator, a State Representative, CEO of State Business Partnership, and TSP Architects were all in attendance. It is estimated that 2,000 people attended the dedication ceremony and a steady stream of visitors toured the facility from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Jerry is hopeful that the event will spark the interest of other school officials and more Monolithic Dome schools will be built in the near future. News of the event was covered in the Austin Daily Herald.
