Centro De La Familia de UtahMonolithic Dome Preschool Facility Opens in UtahThe Migrant Head Start Program, Centro De La Familia De Utah opened its door during September 2002 and classes are now underway in their new Monolithic Dome facility. An open house is schedueled for October 11, 2002 -- 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The program offers resources for migrant families such as training classes in parenting, job training, health and nutrition and community resources. The children's educational program offers free medical and dental care, healthy meals and snacks and indoor and outdoor play areas for children 6 weeks old to age five. Presently, fifty children are enrolled. The goal of the program is to give children of migrant farm working families in the Genola area hope for a bright future. The 101-foot dome houses classrooms, restrooms, and observation area, nurses station and offices. The Activity Dome measures 60' x 23' and is used for recreational purposes. The other two domes provide a kitchen, cafeteria and resource center. Click images to enlarge: |
