by Kris Garrison

The Annual Solar Fest will be held June 18th, 2005 at Maverick Park @ Broadway & 10th St in San Antonio. Solar San Antonio is a nonprofit {501(c)(3)} advocacy and resource center for renewable and sustainable energy applications. The event showcases the latest in renewable energy technology to the communities of South Texas. It provides attendees an opportunity to learn more about renewable energy, energy saving techniques and sustainable building applications.

The Monolithic Dome Institute will be sending a representative to host a booth to further educate south Texas residents about the energy efficiency of Monolithic Dome construction. The booth will feature photographs of domes that have been specifically designed for solar power such as the Garlock residence in Colorado and the Oliver residence in Nevada City, California. MDI Representative Anne Sutherland will be available to answer questions and distribute literature.

According to Solar Fest website, "The 2004 Solar Fest reached approximately 1500 people from around South Texas. Over 35 exhibitors showcased all phases of renewable energy and sustainable living."
