Malaysian Publication Says Dome Owners are the Envy of Square Neighbors

June 30, 2006

by Carol Lanham

As Monolithic Domes grow in popularity, people all over the world are starting to take notice of their incomparable advantages over traditional buildings. Property Times, the publication of choice for those involved in the real estate industry in Malaysia, turned its attention to domes recently describing them as super-insulated, steel reinforced concrete oddities that stand out in the square-dominated landscape. The article, which first appeared in Malaysia’s English-language newspaper New Strait Times, went on to explain that the structures are not only energy-efficient but secure as well. “Natural disasters, accidents and the many “what ifs” – fires, floods, gale winds and other calamities – can be banished, for the monolithic dome’s sturdy construction and shape makes it ambivalent to disasters,” the article states, and goes on to conclude, “In the long term, the everyday cost of a monolithic dome, such as maintenance and utility bills, will be considerably less, making you the envy of your square neighbours.”
