In 2000, Shirley and Don Tuttle moved into their just-completed, four-dome home and began shopping for homeowners insurance that would take into account the durability and survivability of their Monolithic Domes. Their efforts netted a savings of more than $600.
The Tuttles’ 2,600-square-foot home consists of a 37-foot diameter dome for the kitchen and great room and two 24-foot diameter domes for bedrooms, bathrooms and office. Their fourth dome shelters their car.
High ceilings help create the look and feeling of openness, while curved arches complement and echo the shape of the dome.
The Tuttles’ well planned great room provides uninterrupted space for food preparation, dining, entertaining, reading and just relaxing.
It comfortably accommodates and displays Shirley’s large collection of stuffed character dolls.
A beautifully designed quilt adorns a wall.
An assortment of Teddy Bears adds to the comfortable ambiance of this room.
Don Tuttle spent many hours on the phone and computer in this room, looking for an insurance agent who would help him. His efforts paid.
Like the other three domes, this Monolithic Dome garage is energy efficient, strong, low maintenance and disaster resistant.
The Texas Department of Insurance did a risk evaluation of the Monolithic Domes that put them in a new category and significantly lowered the annual premium.
