Podcast: Backcountry Utah Interview – Monolithic Domes
Dome Tales
The host of Radio Backcountry Utah interviews David South, president of Monolithic, who relates some interesting stories about domes.
One such tale is about a couple who want to build a Monolithic Dome home because the husband spends much time abroad and a Monolithic Dome is the only structure in which the wife feels safe.
Another is about a television crew, in a Monolithic Dome, who peacefully slept through one of Florida’s worst hurricanes.
David’s final story is about a non-Monolithic dome, built many years ago in Utah, that passed a grueling strength test and proved very, very difficult to knock down.
