What is a Daracel?

Recently, Thomas G. Miller, a resident of Orem, Utah with many years of experience in the dairy industry, approached Monolithic with a new idea. At least, it was new to Monolithic, but not new to Mr. Miller. He’d been working on the idea of a Daracel for a long time.

Dara,” said Mr. Miller, “is short for dairy and cel is short for carousel.”

Milking parlors with carousels

Circular, rotating milking systems are proving to be far more efficient than their predecessors. Several Internet websites clearly state their advantages.

But Mr. Miller is convinced that those advantages would be further enhanced by a carousel system – the Daracel – housed in a Monolithic Dome.

David B. South, Monolithic’s president, agrees. He said, “We can design a Monolithic Dome milking parlor in any size needed. For example, a Daracel for s small dairy with about 32 cows could be housed in a dome with a 50-foot diameter. A larger operation – let’s say 100 cows – could use a dome with a 125-foot diameter. Either one would provide comfortable accommodations for cows and handlers, with some left-over space for storage.”

Advantages of a Monolithic Dome Milking Parlor

Low Maintenance – Both the exterior and interior of the dome can be easily and economically maintained.

Comfortable Environment – Its super insulation makes the dome pleasantly warm in cold weather and cool in hot weather for both animals and humans.

Safe – A Monolithic Dome Milking Parlor would be virtually indestructible – impervious to natural disasters, fire, termites and vermin.

Durable – It would last for centuries.
